Portrait of Dr. Danielle Perna
Physician

Danielle Perna, MD Board-certified dermatologist · Maitland Dermatology

Dr. Perna is a board-certified dermatologist and a Central Florida native coming home to practice. She grew up in Oviedo, graduated from Oviedo High School, and earned her B.S. in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Central Florida. She received her M.D. from the University of Louisville School of Medicine — where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society — and completed her dermatology residency at the University of Louisville.

Her path to dermatology started early: as a student she founded Start with Sunscreen!, a community sun-protection initiative, and she has volunteered in community clinics from Longwood's Shepherd's Hope to the Kentucky State Fair's skin cancer screenings. She has authored peer-reviewed work in journals including JAMA Dermatology, JAMA Oncology, and the International Journal of Dermatology.

At Maitland Dermatology she focuses on medical dermatology — treating conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, and acne — along with general and cosmetic dermatology, routine skin checks, and skin cancer detection.
